Young C Talks New Album
April 28th
If you didn't get the hint from records like "Ocean's Seven" and "Live in Effect," State Property have officially reunited. Young Chris of the Young Gunz told us all it took was for everybody to sit down together and air out their differences like grown men.

"We had good conversations," said Chris, who just released a duet with Beanie Sigel called "Rush." "It's all good. I always kept my same relationship with everybody. I never had no problem with nobody. We been together for a little minute now. Dropping records, releasing records on the streets, getting the streets back, letting 'em know we still here. Shout-out to Beans. Everybody is good, though. Everybody is doing their thing."

While Beanie is serving out a small bid for parole violations (he should be home this summer), the rest of the Prop are continuing to work in his absence. Chris is on schedule to drop his long-talked-about solo LP, Now or Never, this year. The youngster maintained that it wasn't difficult making the transition from group member to soloist.

"I been working on the album since the end of '05," he said. "Jay-Z came to me and said, 'Next, your solo album.' So ever since then, I been working on it. Every time I go in the studio, it's three verses and a hook. This has been three years now. I got it down pat now. I feel good. I'm going into it this year. I won't say it was hard. If you look at the timing, it took a little time, but it wasn't hard."

Chris has been working with producers Dre & Vidal, Lil Wayne ("our song is called 'Welcome to Paradise' — welcome to our life behind the rap") and has a song with The-Dream that might be the first single.

There's also a mixtape with DJ Omega and Ahmir called Campaign for Change. That project is the follow-up to previous solo releases The New Crack, Politically Incorrect and Young Chris-Mas.
Lebron - Z
April 28th

I was planning to write a little response to Mr. James in my c-box who seems to think I have some obligation to him, but now that I'm writing this post I don't care enough for it. I just wanna let you know this; first I know I aint big, I'm a small hiphop and RnB blog that started just two months ago, and second, that thanks to me having more going on in my life than this blog, there'll always be days that I just can't post. If that means you won't visit this blog anymore, so be it.
With that said, I have to announce that tomorrow I'm leaving ya'll again for a short trip that I'll have to take for my work. I hadn't planned this and if it was up to me I wouldn't go but it's not and it's just two days and I'll be back Wednesday night or by Thursday morning. If I don't have access to a computer during the trip Thursday will be the day I'll start posting again and the day from which this blog will be back to normal. I hope ya’ll can understand and continue to support this small blog.

DeShawn Stevenson may have made the biggest mistake of his carreer last month by calling MPV-candidate Lebron James overrated. When LeBron was asked for a response he said that answering him is "like rap icon Jay-Z responding to a one-hit wonder like Soulja Boy." Next thing you know Hova drops in with a freestyle over Too $hort’s Blow the Whistle, dissing DeShawn.

Jay Z - Blow The Whistle NO DJ

showing he got LeBron's back. Today DC rapper Proverb has decided to step into this beef and take a stab at Jay-Z on the behalf of DC & Deshawn Stevenson over Jay-Z's PSA track. This ain't over.

Proverb - PSA Jay-Z diss

For those who haven't been following this, can read more about this in this article in the Washington Post.

What do you think? Should've Hov stayed out of this? Why react to a relatively unknown not rapping basketballplayer that LeBron compared to the Soulja Boy of the game, but let Joey get away with 'Talk To Em'?

Ne-Yo - Closer

I haven't posted anything today, got some other things to do, so this may be the last post of the day. With that in mind, why not do something big. This right here is the WORLD PREMIERE off the video off Ne-Yo's new single 'Closer'. "Closer," written by Ne-Yo and produced by Stargate, is the first single from Ne-Yo's upcoming third album, YEAR OF THE GENTLEMAN, set to arrive in stores June 24th. It is the follow-up to Because Of You (released May 2007), which received this year's Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album, and In My Own Words (February 2006) -- both of which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.
Come With Me
April 24th
Normally I'm posting 3/4 songs whenever a new album comes out that I want to give some promotion. With Bobby Valentino's new album 'Come With Me' I'm just posting two, since there's only five songs and one instrumental on the album. The album was due to release on April 29th, but thanks to the early release you can get the album now here on Itunes.

Dave Young - Drinking Smoking
April 24th

Dave Young has been a songwriter in the industry for a while now, dating back to the early solo albums of Dave Hollister. Mary J. Blige signed him to her record label "Matriarch Records" and now he's getting ready to release an album off his own. The track is called 'Smoking Drinking' and features 50cent. I know I'm a little late with this one, just never got to post it. If you haven't checked it already, make sure you do now.

Lil Wayne Scores First Hot 100 Chart-Topper
April 24th
Rapper Lil Wayne scores his first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week with "Lollipop," which jumps from No. 2 with the help of 183,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Lil Wayne has made 20 appearances on the Hot 100 since 1999, the majority of which have been via collaborations. As a lead artist, his previous best showing was with "Go D.J.," which peaked at No. 14 in November 2004.

The rapper's highly anticipated new album, "Tha Carter III," has shifted released dates on numerous occasions and is now expected June 10 via Universal.

"Lollipop" flips spots with Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love," which falls from No. 1 despite being the fastest growing track at radio. Jordin Sparks' "No Air" featuring Chris Brown holds at No. 3, while Usher's "Love in This Club" featuring Young Jeezy and Mariah Carey's "Touch My Body" hold at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.

G-Unit, The Game's Delayed Until July
April 24th
A Soundscan showdown between 50 Cent and his G-Unit collective and Compton rapper The Game will not take place, AllHipHop.com has learned.

Both G-Unit and The Game were scheduled to release their newest albums respectively, on June 24, pitting the two rivals against each other for sales.

50 Cent claimed he was going to push The Game’s third album L.A.X back, so that G-Unit could release their highly anticipated sophomore release Terminate on Sight on June 24.

Representatives for The Game released a statement denying 50 Cent’s claim.

Now both rappers' release dates have been changed by Interscope.

G-Unit’s Terminate on Sight will land in stores on July 1, while The Game’s L.A.X. will follow the next week, hitting the shelves July 8.

Love In This Club Part 2
April 23th

So I go away for a couple of hours and look what happens. New Usher track titled "Love In This Club Part II' featuring none other then Queen B and Lil' Wayne.
Shits hot, but I think it would've been better with Ludacris on it. Lil'Wayne actually ruins a part off the track for me with his T-Wayne voice-boxisness, but it's all good. Shouts to Lowkey and Splash. 'Here I Stand' hits stores May 27th and looks to be even better than Confessions, you can pre-order it here. Make sure to get your copy.

Nas Album Delayed
After having Hip Hop websites and Bloggers, going crazy with his recently leaked single "Be A Ni**er Too" the Queensbridge rapper Nas is reportedly planning to release what may be the most anticipated hip hop album of the year "Ni**er"

Although most media outlets had reported that the album would be released in April, it seems that the controversial album is expected to drop July 1st according to a rep of the rapper. Despite receiving some public scrutiny from political activist, it seems that Nas is contempt with the name of the album and has no plans on changing the title.

Hardcore Nas fans as well as casual Hip Hop fans seem to all be very excited about the release about this album. According to Sohh "In a recent survey, out of 1,899 respondents 85.27% said they were not offended by Nas' decision to name his album N*gger, while only 14.73% of those polled said they were."

Ja Rule finally set a date to release his album : More...

Ja Rule has kept his face from the spotlight for some time now. Hoping to gain back the fans he may have lost since his last album, Ja Rule explained his rhetoric for The Mirror that is due out soon.
“Right now it’s coming on the 6th of May, crazy, incredible album. I touched it up…A lot of it got leaked so I had to go and do some new things so it’s definitely the revamped ‘Mirror’ so it’s gonna be crazy,” Ja Rule told murderinc-online.com.
No new single has been out since “Uh Oh” featuring Lil’ Wayne, but Ja’s got a track in mind that might show a different side of him.
“I want to put ‘Father Forgive Me’ out as a single, I think I want to do a real dark video, real series, real fresh, real fly, something that y’all really aren’t used to seeing or haven’t seen before, so yeah I think I’m going to do that.”

When asked about a collaboration between the “old” crew, Ja Rule sees the glass half empty but kept the door open.
“I doubt it, we’re all in different places of our lives, you know me and X (DMX), we have our differences but I have no hard feelings towards X, I still got love for X. If X was to reach out and ‘Holla’ at me I’d reach out my hand and ‘Holla’ back. Jay, me and Jay are good we cool, we speak. It’s just that we’re all doing different things in our lives right now.”
The Mirror is set to be released May 6th.

..and 50ty reacts to Young Bucks 'My Interview' joint: More...

'I blame myself for overextending myself,' Fif says of the rift between Buck and G-Unit.

50 Cent is no psychic. He just knows his friends — those close to him and estranged.

"I knew he was gonna do that," 50 reiterated on Sunday on the Brooklyn set of the G-Unit's videos for "I Like the Way She Do It" and "Rider Pt. 2."

"Well, Buck, he doesn't think very clear," Fif added. "He has things to help him not think clear — not using a sober mind when you're doing things. I knew he would do that first, because he felt if he mentioned the things that people said he did in a song, it would defuse [perceptions of him]. He said, 'Yeah, I sip syrup. Yeah, I did this. I did things wrong.' If you say it in the music, [the fans] can accept it, because they had stars prior to this use drugs. They don't have a problem with Amy Winehouse. There is a lot of other rock stars who use drugs and sh-- like that. I don't see how they would feel that that's unacceptable. Some of their favorite rappers are sipping syrup. Me, personally, I don't do it. I'm getting high off the situation of accomplishing my goals.
